  • Treasurer’s Report- History Dinner did not have full attendance, so we did not make as much on the meal as expected. The auction portion raised $945 for TLA, for a total revenue of $1023.81. We also sold $250 in hat sales. Current bank balance $38,114.66.

  • Member at Large Report- Shane is noticing morning algae blooms which blow away by mid-day. That is very common for this time of year and algae blooms seems to have been fewer this year than in years past.

  • TLBP  Report- Mike Mader not Present

    • Lake gauge report- lake gauge read 5.92 this morning. Lake level has gone up due to last storm.

    • Greta Burles emailed out a notice of algae toxin levels. Notice cautions people to limit pet’s exposure to lake water and be aware of blooms when recreating in the lake.

  • Committee Reports

    • History dinner- Thank you to Susie and Betty for organizing the history dinner. Note that we should reserve the date earlier and advertise the event more to increase attendance. Thank you cards will go out to donors. Lorna Clark showed interest in helping Susie for the future.  Betty suggested we set the date now for the dinner next year. The proposed date is September 20.  We would like people to come up with suggested speakers for future events.

  • Discussion of “Call In” for members who can’t be present at these meetings

    • Gerry purchased a speaker that we tested out during the meeting. Sound was good, so we will use it to allow remote attendees to listen and contribute to future meetings. Gerry said that multiple people can join the conference call.

  • There was discussion to reduce the number of meetings, as some months are busier than others. It was proposed to eliminate meetings in December, January, March and July (as it interferes with July 4). We will discuss and vote on next month.

  • Weed treatment is ongoing.  Joe Cowan has done one herbicide treatment and expects to add some additional treatment when he does Dee’s place.  He still needs to come through with his harvestor.

New Business- Big news!  Deputy Robert Baker is aware of property damage due to wake boats on the lakes. He has contacted agents of the Oregon State Marine Board and have toured them around the lakes. They have come up with a plan to restrict areas of the lakes from active wake surfing. “Protect your sport” is the slogan. The OSMB will be installing 3’x4’ signs at launch areas around the lake which will display a map of suggested wake surf areas. This will be implemented next year.

Deputy Baker is also working on a grant for 2 new floating restrooms, and for having the canal dredged.  Thank you Deputy Baker for all your efforts!
